Friends of St Thomas More Catholic Student Center,
We have just received word from Bishop Daly that, in the very fluid and emergent nature of the Covid 19 crisis, all public Masses have been canceled in the Diocese of Spokane until 6 April. In light of this directive all public Masses at STM are suspended. I will offer daily Mass at STM for you and for a quick end to this crisis. I am investigating ways to livestream Sunday Masses and will let you know when and if that becomes possible.
The Chrism Mass, scheduled for 31 March in Spokane, is now closed to the public and will be livestreamed on the diocesan website.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation will continue to be available on Thursday afternoon at 4 and there will be a Holy Hour each Thursday from 4 to 5 pm with Adoration and Benediction.
St Thomas More will be unlocked during the regular hours for prayer and meditation but groups are encouraged to maintain the distancing protocols during this time.
Bishop Daly is encouraging the faithful of the Diocese of Spokane to join him in a voluntary fast on Fridays with the intention of ending the current pandemic.
In union with Bishop Daly, I invite all of you to make a special prayer intention for those who are suffering from the corona virus and especially for the doctors, nurses, and technicians who are working to combat the effects of this illness and to keep it from spreading more severely than it already is.
We place ourselves in the humble Love of Jesus and pray for the intercession of St Thomas More and St John Newman.
